DEADHEAD Dark Chocolate Rum is another extraordinary creation from Iconic Brands Inc., who already delighted the spirits world with their award-winning Deadhead Rum. This premium rum matures for five years in oak barrels before being enriched with the finest chocolate.
The Dark Chocolate Rum is crafted from pure sugarcane juice and robust molasses. In small batches, the sugarcane juice is gently fermented and double-distilled in copper stills, while the molasses is slowly cooked and distilled in a column still. Both rums form the foundation of Deadhead Rum, crucial for its harmony and complexity.
DEADHEAD matures in American oak barrels, while the molasses rum rests in American and Chiapas oak, creating a luxurious color and elegant aromas.
After aging, the rum is blended with high-quality chocolate from regional cocoa beans and rested for an additional sixty days. This gentle infusion process enhances the natural qualities of the aged rum and creates a perfect balance between rum and chocolate.
DEADHEAD Chocolate Rum is versatile and full-bodied: the bouquet reveals subtle notes of dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, and butter. On the palate, rich chocolate, caramel, and vanilla merge into a long-lasting, unforgettable taste experience.
The signature monkey shrunken head bottle honors the spiritual beliefs of the Maya and Aztec cultures, where monkeys are often associated with cocoa in pre-Columbian mythology.
