Panela, also known as whole cane sugar, is a natural alternative to refined white sugar.
It is made by slowly boiling down freshly pressed sugarcane juice, without any refining or additives. This traditional process preserves valuable nutrients.
Whole cane sugar contains vitamins (A, B, C, D, and E) as well as important minerals such as calcium, copper, potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, and zinc. Its mineral content can be up to 50 times higher than that of refined sugar.
The term "fraccionada" means the panela is divided into convenient individual portions, making it especially practical for everyday use. Whether you use it to sweeten drinks, in desserts, or traditional dishes - panela adds a rich, caramel-like flavor and an authentic touch to your cooking.
