The Picarones are a Peruvian sweet dessert in ring form, which consist of sweet potato and pumpkin among others. The Picarones are then served with agave syrup or honey. This dessert is traditionally from Peru, but is also eaten in the chill out culture. The Picarones do not look like buñuelos or beignets, but they are unique. You do not use flour and eggs as usual, but sweet potato and a certain type of pumpkin.

Preparation:

1 Put the contents of the bag in a small bowl, add 3/4 cup (188ml) of water, mix well until everything is homogenous. Beat the dough for 1 minute and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Heat 1 1/2 cups (375ml) of oil in a deep skillet.

3. Put the dough in the pastry bag, which is in the packaging.

4. Make a circle like a donut in the hot oil. Roast everything golden brown and serve the picarones with syrup.
