ZENA dried hibiscus flowers, 125g
Hibiscus flowers are a versatile ingredient: they are used to make gelatine, jellies, salads, ice cream, alcoholic drinks and even tacos.
One of the most popular preparations is the Mexican ‘Agua de Jamaica’. It is actually a tea whose colour and taste resembles cranberry tea, but is served cold.
Its festive ruby red colour has led to hibiscus tea being associated with the Christmas season in Panama and parts of the Caribbean. Some chefs in Mexico use Agua de Jamaica as an ingredient in the traditional Christmas punch, which is usually served hot.
