Canjica is a traditional Brazilian sweet dish, especially popular during the traditional winter festivals known as “Festa Junina”, which take place in Brazil in June.
It is prepared with special corn kernels, also called “Canjica.” The corn is slowly cooked with cow’s milk or coconut milk, sugar, cinnamon and cloves until it becomes soft and creamy.
Depending on taste, additional ingredients such as peanuts or sweetened condensed milk can be added.
