This ready-made sancocho-style soup from MAGGI is pure comfort in a bowl. Sancocho is a Latin American meat stew with root vegetables, full of cilantro flavour. It can be prepared with almost any type of meat that can withstand a longer cooking time. There are dozens of variations in the Caribbean and Latin America with combinations of beef, goat, pork, chicken and fish.
Like many Caribbean dishes, "sancocho" had very humble beginnings. It was cobbled together from whatever scraps enslaved labourers could get their hands on and spiced up with root vegetables, which formed the basis of their diet.

1846 wurde der Gründer Julius Maggi in der Schweiz geboren und mit 23 übernahm er die Mühle seines Vaters.
