Es findet zwischen dem 31. Oktober und dem 2. November \u2014 Allerheiligen und alle Seelen Tage auf dem katholischen Kalender \u2014 statt.<\/p>\n<p>Hier die wichtigsten Fakten rund um den \u201eD\u00eda de Los Muertos\u201c, dessen Bedeutung\u00a0 sogar 2008 von der UNESCO als \u201eImmaterielles Weltkulturerbe\u201c anerkannt wurde:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em>Geschichte<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nDer Tag der Toten entstand vor mehreren tausend Jahren bei vorhispanischen V\u00f6lkergruppen (Azteken, Toltec und Nahua) die das Trauern der Toten als respektlos empfanden. F\u00fcr sie war der Tod eine nat\u00fcrliche Phase des Lebens. Es sind kleine Alt\u00e4re f\u00fcr die Anbetung und sollen die Geister zur\u00fcck in das Reich der lebenden willkommen hei\u00dfen. Ausgelegt werden Getr\u00e4nke (um den Durst nach der langen Reise zu stillen), Essen, Familienfotos und eine Kerze f\u00fcr jeden toten Verwandten. Wenn einer der Geister ein Kind ist, findet man vielleicht kleine Spielzeuge auf dem Altar. Die Figur wurde vermutlich von einem mexikanischen Kupferstecher geschaffen, um sich \u00fcber die vorrevolution\u00e4re mexikanische Oberschicht lustig zu machen. Die Calavera (span. f\u00fcr Sch\u00e4del) Catrina stellt das Skelett einer jungen Frau mit besonders sch\u00f6nen Kleidern dar. Die Knochen sind in einem Kreis angeordnet, wie im Kreis des Lebens. Winzige Teig-Tr\u00e4nen symbolisieren Schmerz und Sehnsucht.
